this before.

Just never with AI.

The Movie Sprint puts strangers in a room, forms crews on the spot and premieres films made in a single weekend. Cameras, actors, real sets. AI Filmhack is a new format built on that experience. It does not replace it.

01The people

It starts with a room
full of film nerds.

Not a film school. Not an industry mixer. People who love movies and would rather make one than talk about making one. Some arrive with a crew. Most arrive alone and leave with one.

Filmmakers & Movie Nerds has been running meetups, screenings and the Movie Sprint for years. It started small, in rooms like these.

02The work

Then somebody says go,
and it gets loud.

Crews form. Cameras come out. Nobody has enough time, which turns out to be the point. Constraints beat talent. A deadline you can see beats a plan you keep polishing.

03The premiere

And then a full house
watches what you made.

This is the part people underestimate. Not the shoot. The moment the lights go down, your name is on the screen, and a room full of strangers reacts in real time.

That is why the weekend has a hard deadline. Something has to play.

This time,
with AI.

I have been running these sprints for years, because I wanted a room where people made films instead of talking about making them.

AI Filmhack is that same room with one question added: where does AI actually improve the filmmaking process? Not where does it replace the filmmaker. There is a difference, and it matters. The tools are fast at the parts that eat your weekend and never end up on screen. They are not the part that decides what the film is about, or what it is trying to say, or which take is the honest one. That part is still yours.

I do not know exactly where that line sits yet. That is the point of the weekend. Forty-eight hours and a room full of crews is a fast way to find out.

Everything above happened at the Movie Sprint, on real sets with real crews. That work stands on its own. This is the next experiment, not a replacement for it.

You do not need to have used any of these tools before. Neither had I.
